Finding. Allows up to 1% of the cost of publicly funded capital projects, subject to limits, to be allocated to commissioning art. Available across all government departments since 1997, with national guidelines from 2004 and higher limits from 2020.
Limitation. A funding mechanism, not evidence of effect. Its uptake in the health sector is not quantified in the sources reviewed.
